Ramon is a screenwriter based in Naarm (Melbourne), with a Bachelor of Film & TV from Swinburne University and a Masters of Screenwriting from the VCA.
Since graduating, he has developed and contributed to narrative, documentary and commercial projects for film, TV and web, always led by a passion for dramatic storytelling.
In January 2020, Ramon was selected for the inaugural In Dreams Fellowship; off the back of his pilot script DADDIES, an irreverent take on gay fatherhood. Through the fellowship he was able to develop the script further, and was subsequently accepted into Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Impact Australia 2 program with the project.
Ramon’s ABC short documentary DANCES, inspired by his own use of apps like Grindr, screened at prestigious festivals internationally, and earned him QueerScreen’s Emerging Queer Filmmaker Award.
Ramon is currently developing a number of feature film and television concepts; he is drawn to telling stories that use humour, pathos and heart to challenge our assumptions about human behaviour and the world around us.
When he’s not writing, he loves to bash around on the piano and talk at length about Whitney Houston to anyone who will listen.
